AEROBATIC FLIGHT RATING (PDF)

This is the information package regarding the Aerobatic Flight rating (as per italian rules, non-JAR) at the Aero Club Milano FTO (Flight Training

- ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
- Current PPL(A) with 100h total time, 50h of which as PIC
- Current CPL(A) or more
- GROUND AND FLIGHT COURSE.
- GROUND COURSE. Ground course (12h) is held in classroom: subject includes rules, airplane construction, piloting techniques, and other according to relevant rules. Learning aids (books, maps, etc.) are supplied by Aero Club Milano and are approved by Aviation Authorities.
- FLIGHT COURSE. Flight training (12h minimum) is performed on FTO airplanes (CAP-10 see Fleet) under the responsibility of the assigned Flight Instructor.
- FLIGHT ACTIVITY DURING TRAINING
- 10h, 7 of which dual.
- AIRPLANES.
- AIRPLANES TO BE USED FOR TRAINING.
- Single-engine, two-seat airplanes certified under Cat. A for dual flight instruction.
- Single-engine, single-seat airplanes certified under Cat. A for solo flights, not necessarily operated by the FTO.

The Aero Club Milano FTO organizes courses each year for Aerobatic Flight rating. The courses comprise of two parts: ground- and flight training. The students will be promptly advised for class dates and times, to allow for personal planning.
Airplane used for training may be in the following categories.
No formal exam is required by rules. Aerobatic instructor, as soon as student reaches a satisfactory level of skill and proficiency, issues a statement of proficiency undersigned by FTO's Head of Training. The statement is required to apply for rating validation by Aviation Authority.
Average cost is 2.000,- to 3.500,- €: according to inclination and proficiency of the candidate.
Since Aerobatic Rating is a legal document, it is necessary to open a folder at ENAC (Italian Aviation Authority) including the following documents and certificates. Burocratic part is taken care of by Aero Club Milano under student's delegation and is part of services offered by the Club.
