NATIONAL LICENSES CONVERSION (PDF)
Updated: 28-nov-2008
The JAR and legislation is in force in Italy and implies, for those who have needs or interest, the possibility to convert any national license and ratings in the corresponding JAR.
Actually, after JAR enforcement only JAR-compliant licenses will be issued, while old national licenses will be maintained until exhaustion.
This means that no new rating of any type would be added to national licenses: this could be no problem for many pilots, but a big one for others
wishing to have a future as pilots, both professional or not.
In detail, JAR-FCL states that a national PPL holder should attend a JAR-FCL course before applying for license conversion, while a CPL/ATPL holder
shoulf follow also a JAR-OPS course in an approved training organization such as Aero Club Milano
Courses are open to all pilots holding any national license, with the following organization:
- JAR-FCL Courses for private and commercial license holders
- Duration: 1 day
- Hours: 0900-1200LT, 1400-1700LT
- Dates: On request with a minimum number of participants
- Fee: Euro 150,-. For Aero Club Milano members: Euro 100,-.
- JAR-OPS Courses for commercial license holders
- Duration: 1 day
- Hours: 1700-2000LT
- Dates: On request with a minimum number of participants
- Fee: Euro 200,-. For Aero Club Milano members: Euro 150,-.
At the end of the courses, applicants will perform a written, multiple-answer test. After passing it, a statement will be issued by the Flight School
to apply to Aviation Authority for license conversion.
